HS-3230 Electric Piano is a Chinese sample-based polyphonic toy
keyboard. Comes in a few colors and quite possible a few shapes too
(there are very similarly looking keyboards on the market). Features 32
keys starting from F-2, 8 instruments, 4 drums sounds available via
pads, a number of backing patterns complete with chords and bass, and
whopping 22 demo songs. Bought it in 2012 for $15 (new). While overall
quality is quite cheap, it has pretty impressive sound quality and
features for its price. Better than some of toy pianos that cost twice
as much.

The keyboard uses pretty tricky sample playing approach that is
difficult to recreate in SF2 faithfully. There is very long loops for
sustained instruments, that use ping pong and some sort modulation that
makes a waveform never really come to an actual repeat in a reasonable
time (dozen of seconds). There is a looped envelope for the Mandolin
instrument. On top of this, there is also 'Effect' button that toggles
between four types of sound for each instrument: normal sound, strong
vibrato, much increased release (kind of piano sustain, but only works
for short key touches), and retrigger, or tremolo - each note gets
restarted at a fixed rate, similar to Mandolin.

Another weirdity is the drum samples. Playing routines, or maybe
their parameters, seemingly different for the drum pads and drum
patterns. There is subltle, but obvious difference in pitch and clarity
for each drum sample between two sources. I sampled both for extra
expression, and included system bleep (plays when tempo or volume
buttons pressed) as well.

Due to the SF2 limitations and keyboard weirdiness, the Mandolin
instrument isn't captured in its true form. Actual sound quickly
repeats at fixed BPM regardless of note, and each repeat has a bit
different sound (seems that there is a long waveform going on out of
sync with the volume envelope). Neither of these two qualities can
be represented with SF2 format, so I only put an one-shot of the
sound without variations.
